Hoekom is Die Kapel 'n gay kerk?

Die Kapel was nog nooit bedoel om gay kerk te wees nie. Daar is ook nie net gays in Die Kapel nie. Maar daar is aansienlik meer gays as heteroseksuele. Hoekom? Die tyd waarin ons leef. Die hoeveelheid heteroseksuele christene wat 'n gay pastoor se prediking sal uithoor is relatief min. Die wat na 'n pastoor sal luister wat in 'n permanente lewensverbintenis staan, nóg minder. Nie omdat gaywees ons onderwerp is nie. Jesus is. Daar sal eendag sekerlik 'n tyd aanbreek dat ons nie eers sal dink oor wie gay of straight is nie. Ons sal net die Here volg en heiligmaking leef. Nou is dinge nog soos hulle is.
Die Kapel is a gay church that believes in the clarity of the Gospel. Having said that though, we need to say that we do not provide people with quick-fix answers to life's many questions regarding ethics because there aren't any! We try to deal with issues in a non-judgmental way, asking the Holy Spirit to cast light on our ways as well as our interpretation and application of The Bible.
It is also important to mention that our pastor is gay. Our pastor has a heart for people who are gay, like himself. Our church has a mission to be a spiritual home for all. Our church has many single members and the issues that arise from being alone in life are dealt with sensitively.
The sermons on Sundays are simple, clear and direct messages that address our daily encounter with God, ourselves, others and life itself.
